We strongly believe a healthy child is a happy child; and happy children learn and are able to fulfil their potential.
As well as effective safeguarding, we pride ourselves on offering timely additional emotional and social support to any child.
At Silverstone Primary our programme of study for PSHE education ( Personal, Social and Health Education) aims to develop skills and attributes such as resilience, self-esteem, risk-management, team working and critical thinking in the context of learning grouped into three core themes: health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world (including economic wellbeing and aspects of careers education). The relationships and health aspects of PSHE education will be compulsory in all schools from 2020.
To enhance our PSHE curriculum we have implemented a new scheme of work at the start of the 2018-19 academic year (SCARF).
SCARF provides the framework for a whole-school approach to improving children’s wellbeing and progress, based on five values: safety (S), caring (C), achievement (A), resilience (R) and friendship (F).
