PDET - Peterborough Diocese Educational Trust
The Peterborough Diocese Education Trust (PDET) is a multi-academy trust formed by the Peterborough Diocese Board of Education. Each of our schools maintains its own unique identity but we believe that we can achieve more by working together.
‘A cord of three strands is not easily broken.’ (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Our family of schools seek to serve their local communities; they are inclusive welcoming children of the Christian Faith of other faiths or of no faith, children from all backgrounds and of all abilities. We believe in the infinite worth of each person: children deserve the very best education and staff merit support to deliver this. Although the multi-academy trust was formed initially to support church schools, PDET is happy to work with any community school that shares our values.
Chief Executive: Mr Duncan Mills

Ethos and Values
Our vision is to help every young person in our school expand their horizons, and build the confidence, talents, interests, skills and qualifications to enable every child to succeed as they make their way towards a fulfilling and prosperous life.
We are focused on the development of the whole person – academically, physically, emotionally and socially. Our aim is to enable every child to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
WE ARE A FAMILY – Silverstone CE Primary is at the heart of a strong and supportive community. We welcome every member of our supportive and loving community to be part of our school family. Through our Christian values we support each other and encourage everyone to be the best they can be.
Silverstone CE Primary aims to:
LEARN TOGETHER - we aim to instil a love for learning and motivate each child by providing a stimulating curriculum that will develop creative, enquiring and resourceful minds.
GROW TOGETHER – in every child we aim to build self-confidence and develop the qualities of self-discipline, responsibility, respect, tolerance and perseverance to support children becoming independent, successful and responsible young citizens
ACHIEVE TOGETHER - through our safe, caring and happy environment we aim to nurture individual talents, enable children to develop physically, socially and intellectually and strive for the highest academic achievements.
Our Christian Values are embedded into the life of our school:
Through our Christian Ethos we aim
To provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment where each child’s uniqueness is valued and celebrated and their full potential – socially, intellectually, physically, spiritually and morally is recognised and developed through a broad and balanced curriculum.
To create a sense of belonging to the school and the wider community, a respect for the environment and for the culture, beliefs and feelings of others, nurturing a sense of trust, care and consideration.
For staff, governors, parents and the community to work in partnership with one another to develop the skills needed to enable the children to become independent learners and responsible and compassionate members of society
To provide equal opportunities for all regardless of gender, faith, disability or ethnicity.
To encourage, enjoy, excel and celebrate success in all aspects of life.
Governors’ Statement of Philosophy and Values
Silverstone CE Primary believes education influences and reflects the values of society and the kind of society we want it to be. It is important to recognise a broad set of common values and purposes which underpin the curriculum, the work of our schools, and their Christian ethos.
We believe that education, at home and at school, is a route to the spiritual, moral, social, physical and mental development of the individual. Education is also a route to equality of opportunity for all, a healthy and just democracy, a productive economy and sustainable development. Inclusive education should reflect the enduring values that contribute to these ends. These include valuing ourselves, our families and other relationships, the wider groups to which we belong and respecting the diversity in our society and the environment in which we live.
The Governors of the Silverstone CE Primary believe it is crucial for values to be taught, alongside the teaching of knowledge and skills. It is a primary aim that every member should feel valued and respected and that they are treated fairly. We are a caring community whose values are built on mutual trust and respect for all. There is a commitment to promoting the school values above of hope, trust, love, respect, forgiveness, resilience, compassion and curiosity. It is our aim for the children to have a strong sense of values and to understand their part in taking responsibility for making our school a happy place in which to learn.
As Governors, we seek to develop a positive and caring atmosphere in which teaching and learning can take place in a happy and safe environment, where our values are to the fore in all aspects of school life including the curriculum and behaviour and where staff, parents and children all work together to promote this positive ethos.
