During these challenging times the strong and effective working relationship we have between school and parents is vital as we endeavour to ensure our children are safe, happy and continue to make progress in their learning.
The various communications and documents we have shared with parents will hopefully keep you up to date with the requirements and expectation from teachers, children and parents.
Whilst remote learning during lockdown is clearly directed by teachers through live and recorded zoom session as well as weekly overviews of lessons; we do require the help of parents to support children with their learning.
We all know remote learning will not be perfect. Our approach is to meet the requirements of the DfE whilst trying to meet the needs of the vast majority of our parents. It is not easy and we know the use of online resources brings with it all sorts of problems. As we mentioned in the first lockdown, you are not superheroes and at times your priority will have to be your own job before supporting your children with their learning. Yes, it is vital that children engage with the remote learning and this is our expectation. However, we do acknowledge that on some days the children may not be able to complete all their work.
We monitor and record the engagement of children in all ‘live’ lessons and as well as monitor and record the submission of work, as requested by your child’s teacher.
If you are struggling in any way with remote learning then do get in touch and we can work together to find a solution.
